Mason District 5K

We ran the Mason District 5K organized by Bishops Events to benefit Spikes K9 Fund. Our students had fun and they continue to make progress on their runs.

The race was held on Saturday, August 23rd through the trails of Mason District Park in Annandale, VA. It was the perfect weather for a race, not too hot or humid. The race was carefully organized and ran smoothly.

We only had our more experience runners attend this race. These were students who have run several 5K races with us. Our group had the first place male and female runner overall. Plus, top place runners in our age groups. A few of our students also set new personal best times.

Competing in boxing is a long process and not all students get to reach that goal. We do a few 5K races a year so all of our students have an event to train for and a goal to reach. Once you run your first 5K, the next goal would be to improve on your time or maybe start running further distances. We’re proud of our students for all the progress they’re making.
